Hi!
I'm Hannah Yoon (she/her) and I’m a Korean Canadian freelance photographer based in Philadelphia, PA with a focus on portraiture, documentary and photojournalism work.
In my undergrad, I studied sociology, anthropology and psychology. I’ve always been interested in communities and how they are formed. Prior to becoming a photographer, I lived two years in Seoul, South Korea teaching English and exploring the country. These days I’m interested in diasporic communities and their stories in the US.
I am a proud member of Women Photograph, Diversify Photo and founding board member of the Authority Collective. I am part of these groups as a photographer because I want to see equity in the photo industry. I also serve as a jury member for the Tom Hanson Photojournalism Award, an award for emerging Canadian photojournalists.
Beyond photography, I love making Korean food, watching K-dramas and rock climbing.
